It gave us reason to remember why we love the great man that is our Dad. This year each of the kids wrote their dad a note to tell him what they loved about him. Chad was thankful for all his Dad's support with scouts. They are currently making a canoe together to use at a 50 mile canoe trip this summer. Abby loves to do woodworking with her dad. She also loves to go out on the boat with him. Kaleb wants to be able to help his dad more with the animals and loves to boat with his dad too. The little girls said he was the best dad ever. Gotta love all the love! We made him some little "burgers" out of cupcakes and brownies. They were cute and yummy. We liked them best without all the frosting.<br />I love Brian for being such a good dad to my kids. He really does love them and wants the best for them. He is a good example in the gospel, and I appreciate him for upholding his priesthood in our home. Brian is also a good husband to me, and is always mindful of my needs.<br />I also want to remember my dad, who was a good friend and example to me. I always knew he loved me and wanted what was best for me. I send all my love heavenward to him, as he left me years ago to be my guardian from heaven. I love you Dad!Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-61133415315285917932010-06-20T18:28:00.003-06:002010-06-20T19:17:10.811-06:00Kaleb's 10th birthday<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUHwGQ8dL1kknn-QKnyP5dgyXVqjkuceX-ObkOVgcwKwrMGD73Jeb5qNjBVS5eWDdfIUFnNbNm3tmpKovxcCoH-o5TmwFKdk9KxBB42Pt_6BAINefmxhPCzNyzw46yyYPOVPKPuFnxB6s/s1600/kalebs+birthday+002.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485029482210295650" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUHwGQ8dL1kknn-QKnyP5dgyXVqjkuceX-ObkOVgcwKwrMGD73Jeb5qNjBVS5eWDdfIUFnNbNm3tmpKovxcCoH-o5TmwFKdk9KxBB42Pt_6BAINefmxhPCzNyzw46yyYPOVPKPuFnxB6s/s320/kalebs+birthday+002.JPG" /></a><br /><div>We have had yet another birthday in our home. Kaleb turned the grand old age of 10 this year. As usual, his birthday fell on a day we were traveling. Every year I ask myself what I was thinking, having a baby in June, the month of all things traveling in our family. And the answer is always - you weren't ;) Poor Kaleb has had a birthday in Canada, Idaho Falls, and Helena, just to name a few. I have always tried really hard to make sure his birthday is a fun one, no matter where we are, but this year I failed - I am nominated for "not mom of the year". We drove all day the day before from Las Vegas, and got home at the great hour of 5am. So, I promised him he would have a better birthday if he could wait for Mom to recover from the weekend. I also had to work a few days, so three days late, we had a fun birthday with cake, and his dinner of choice. He asked for a fish cake, we had seen one like this in a magazine, and we had hawaiian haystacks for dinner. We had some friends over too, so that was fun too. Also, in keeping up my goal for this year, I have my little list of 10 reasons I love this boy soooo much.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>1. Kaleb is always telling me thank you for things I do for him. I love this, as I feel appreciated once in a while.</div><br /><div>2. Kaleb loves babies. It is so funny to see him volunteer or ask to hold a baby. He just loves to talk to and love on them.</div><br /><div>3. Kaleb is a good example to his friends. He has some good friends that aren't members of the church, and he is good to remind them of things that aren't good to do, and helps them find things that are better options.</div><br /><div>4. I love to talk to Kaleb - he uses these great big words that you wouldn't expect to hear from a kids, but he is fun to talk to, and be surprised.</div><br /><div>5. Kaleb has an infectious laugh, and is fun to have fun with.</div><br /><div>6. I love Kaleb, because he hasn't forgotten his sister Em, and still talks about her and remembers her birthday every year.</div><br /><div>7. Kaleb always has an idea for something fun we can do as a family. He never runs out of fun ideas.</div><br /><div>8. I love that Kaleb loves to read - it is so fun to hear all my kids having a discussion about some book they have all read.</div><br /><div>9. Kaleb is great to read to his little sisters. They love it when he sits with them after school and reads their pile of books they have saved for him.</div><br /><div>10. Kaleb is a great friend to me - he always asks how I am doing. I love that boy!</div><br /><div align="center">Hope you had a great birthday Kaleb! </div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-88028594082226837692010-06-20T18:13:00.003-06:002010-06-20T18:27:09.200-06:00My Beautiful Sister Got Married!<div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgECx7XLakUayF8HCwv2G98oH3GAx2UyNPLQokOasPEYiFHX4dv4AcFh7TgeHpyXiOaEY5m2W1JKFuRjOQssMf1PDyS_6Zl6j40JmzMUjVAN7Ml4ziwbXneqWVHM4jI5yV_CV0Xxds9xCQ/s1600/connies+wedding+093.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 180px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485016104972458066" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgECx7XLakUayF8HCwv2G98oH3GAx2UyNPLQokOasPEYiFHX4dv4AcFh7TgeHpyXiOaEY5m2W1JKFuRjOQssMf1PDyS_6Zl6j40JmzMUjVAN7Ml4ziwbXneqWVHM4jI5yV_CV0Xxds9xCQ/s320/connies+wedding+093.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div>On June 12 my baby sis got married. She had a beautiful wedding and was a beautiful bride. We had an eventful trip to <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Las</span> Vegas, as with every trip, there were many things forgotten. This included <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Rachel's</span> dress for the wedding, which I had slaved for months over these little dresses, and almost would have rather not gone than not have that dress. My sweet friend Paula <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">overnighted</span> ( at least what you call overnight from Gillette to <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Las</span> Vegas ) the dress, so that was one fire put out. Our animals decided to play escape artists while we were gone too, so after all our nice neighbors chased them back to their homes, our mule found a new home with someone he hasn't tried to escape from yet. Brian flew into Vegas from a work meeting, and the airport lost his luggage. Luckily, all were dressed and present for the wedding so what more can I ask? All in all, the wedding was wonderful, and I was so glad to see my sister so happy. We also welcome Brian (yes another one) into our family - remember for better or worse. Our family is <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">alot</span> to adjust to, when you come from a small family, but we are glad to have him. All in all, it all makes for great memories.</div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYOEsLo3FjLgRS4_vGFHzmPBJbwx2VfzZT6-cWRIz5nQJFD3Gu4PnJoqhaksoXgawj3xWkDb1Klbxpdsa-1BK57oQ6ktTg5uel29bf4mxR_UBEJ3nzBzgHDZUOcXjPMQHRStqB7tkRHNo/s1600/connies+nieces.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 221px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485016124358946258" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYOEsLo3FjLgRS4_vGFHzmPBJbwx2VfzZT6-cWRIz5nQJFD3Gu4PnJoqhaksoXgawj3xWkDb1Klbxpdsa-1BK57oQ6ktTg5uel29bf4mxR_UBEJ3nzBzgHDZUOcXjPMQHRStqB7tkRHNo/s320/connies+nieces.jpg" /></a>These were all the little dresses and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Abby's</span> skirt that were made for the wedding.</div></div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-44913687964305257562010-04-13T00:30:00.003-06:002010-04-13T01:00:31.327-06:00The Renaissance DanceOur Stake hosted a Renaissance Dance, where the youth were shown how to dance the "old-fashioned" dances. There was a caller, all the girls had a dance card, and we danced dances like the Virginia Reel, and Scottish Polka. The youth practiced for months on Saturdays and Wednesday nights so that they could learn what to do. I was lucky as a YW leader to get to be a part of this fun night.<br />I originally thought that I wouldn't be able to attend, and it broke my heart that I wouldn't get to be there. I spent most of the week before helping my friend sew her dress, and the green eyed little monster drove me crazy with jealousy because I really wanted to go. Well, Brian decided that I was going, and in a hurculean effort, we sewed a dress in 5 hours, and went to the dance. He will be forever my hero, because in one day he sewed and danced for me. Brian is not a dancer, despite his wife trying to talk him into it. Well, I figured I would be watching from the seats, but Brian drug me out there and we danced all but 3 of the 12 dances. I loved every minute of it. Thank you Brian - I love you!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjchsRcpcqL6jMRAOTfOCD130PvR6yflbflnPPgLDQ-5ndvAMUGtfF1ktsEQ8cDzfbiw7K5lblyB6HIiEt9G8Rj-CztVz3X1L8h5jF9th6zTE5iHUDy9EF0fkbTmgNJqSElv6ZLBrn0w9M/s1600/apr610+067.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459510436152116082" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjchsRcpcqL6jMRAOTfOCD130PvR6yflbflnPPgLDQ-5ndvAMUGtfF1ktsEQ8cDzfbiw7K5lblyB6HIiEt9G8Rj-CztVz3X1L8h5jF9th6zTE5iHUDy9EF0fkbTmgNJqSElv6ZLBrn0w9M/s320/apr610+067.JPG" /></a> The Gillette 2nd ward girls and leaders that were there.<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigSFKKjima_PWK5Z7Rf80XCR66Da_75v-p3W2Rk40h-5hTNuuksUlDUzsr5HEA_ktvvWCPkjW_9JvJK-hRBAbB7KYq0bYOfXK6p0y29ha3rBdeyz8uHY2xPEw08QDQz8ng8ZklhO8mMyo/s1600/apr610+068.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 240px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459510423905764690" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigSFKKjima_PWK5Z7Rf80XCR66Da_75v-p3W2Rk40h-5hTNuuksUlDUzsr5HEA_ktvvWCPkjW_9JvJK-hRBAbB7KYq0bYOfXK6p0y29ha3rBdeyz8uHY2xPEw08QDQz8ng8ZklhO8mMyo/s320/apr610+068.JPG" /></a> My friend Erin - I helped her with her dress.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgoCj6HSy0ptsVPB5tHwnOpPNbvMUG5ch6u1ywDsVeg8i-0FdAA82HqvIO3qk32izVuOHLh263VTos9QWjbdWGXCenl58NB8lXyll-TLi6x5XiKSrvFn1pl-AELTzBstcPtotO-e2fiZA/s1600/apr610+057.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 240px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459510411173450338" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgoCj6HSy0ptsVPB5tHwnOpPNbvMUG5ch6u1ywDsVeg8i-0FdAA82HqvIO3qk32izVuOHLh263VTos9QWjbdWGXCenl58NB8lXyll-TLi6x5XiKSrvFn1pl-AELTzBstcPtotO-e2fiZA/s320/apr610+057.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizAR8P1rJC7nE4UMgcKvq9OM6JesJyJ7CyUlMvKI6JR1_pSPC2omnHVOCIsrBSbRLS3qMRlM_7jqiSn_SZipWsUHta2tFXnrEvdwZqyNytNB7VTXyweMX6e82-yCqN45DT4jYhboxHRIY/s1600/apr610+058.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459510405679006978" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizAR8P1rJC7nE4UMgcKvq9OM6JesJyJ7CyUlMvKI6JR1_pSPC2omnHVOCIsrBSbRLS3qMRlM_7jqiSn_SZipWsUHta2tFXnrEvdwZqyNytNB7VTXyweMX6e82-yCqN45DT4jYhboxHRIY/s320/apr610+058.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-37196626077608926272010-04-05T21:24:00.003-06:002010-04-05T22:11:49.214-06:00Abby's 12th Birthday!<div><br /><br /><div> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9y-ofQdROBZxllbwY8hLkcnspJkyf6iInCrCSptxi5Y87Ce94n_j9KV4Cn2jeJMY60IHIXScRo8rcwxftNEzGU7wbI94k8oej26jwzJk2VEdS5X_L1GAe5h3XZPbDokG4yD1LSPPEwKo/s1600/carenesphone410+102.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 194px; HEIGHT: 242px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456868440901032722" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9y-ofQdROBZxllbwY8hLkcnspJkyf6iInCrCSptxi5Y87Ce94n_j9KV4Cn2jeJMY60IHIXScRo8rcwxftNEzGU7wbI94k8oej26jwzJk2VEdS5X_L1GAe5h3XZPbDokG4yD1LSPPEwKo/s320/carenesphone410+102.jpg" /></a><br /><div><br /><div>My Abby-girl turned 12 this year. If I didn't already have a 13 year old, I wouldn't think I was old enough to have a 12 year old. She is growing up to be a beautiful girl and I love her more everyday. I am excited that she gets to come to <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">YW</span> with me every week, and it is fun to see her blossom in class with the other <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">YW</span>. She is not the wall flower her mom was, and I love it. She recently had the whole class laughing at something, and surprised them all.</div><div>For her birthday we skipped school, went on a make-up buying spree (only a few things), and went out to a fun lunch. I loved having this time with Abby, while being with Mom is not just awful. We had a great time, and had great food. We ordered our favorite fried pickles and hamburgers. Then we came home and cut out a dress for Abby, as I am completely disgusted with most of the styles for girls these days. So trying to continue on with my goal for this year, here is 12 reasons that I love this girl!</div><br /><br /><div>1. Abby is my best helper, and rarely complains about anything that I ask her to do.</div><div>2. She is such a good sister to the little girls - they love it when she sits and reads to them.</div><div>3. Abby is a good friend - she loves to have her friends over, and can usually be found teaching them to cook, feed the animals, or anything else they are interested in.</div><div>4. Abby is very ambitious, and can be found doing her homework as soon as she gets home, so that she can get it done. I always laugh when she is doing "extra-credit" with her straight A's.</div><div>5. Abby still is willing to let me play with her hair - most of the time.</div><div>6. She has an infectious laugh that makes people want to laugh with her.</div><div>7. She is a good example to her friends and family.</div><div>8. Abby has a tender heart and is loving to any and all around her.</div><div>9. She is responsible, and I don't have to worry that she won't do what needs to be done. She does it all on her own.</div><div>10. She is beautiful inside and out.</div><div>11. She still thinks her Mom is fun.</div><div>12. I love Abby because it is hard to stop at 12 things to say about how wonderful she is.<br /></div><div align="center">I LOVE YOU, ABIGAIL!</div><br /><div align="left">Here are a few pictures I took with my phone on our "girls day out."</div><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCq-SNclpdqgZS1eO3zKttDwPgQqMoinBno7kAnH6bm3E5igAljM0ERLDtp1f5vM7o7jm0azrlRrBN-2tA8fWoYQh_0rcOGCaQCvIcqN0nW6xAbiKfV0VstJ-2owQdHtRmYuOTw1Im5PE/s1600/carenesphone410+101.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 240px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456868458665671346" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCq-SNclpdqgZS1eO3zKttDwPgQqMoinBno7kAnH6bm3E5igAljM0ERLDtp1f5vM7o7jm0azrlRrBN-2tA8fWoYQh_0rcOGCaQCvIcqN0nW6xAbiKfV0VstJ-2owQdHtRmYuOTw1Im5PE/s320/carenesphone410+101.jpg" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjd676X2TP-D12CGvJ45n71ybamLxk26vbiAJzQTfUdoszdC8SiBTbzt49bsJyA8D8Y8vhGLRQrZ5L4qjPexfd2IhgomDSbCxdNU6nePyHbD_aaYN-K9bluYu4brer4M__vNHdT9mAdHPM/s1600/carenesphone410+099.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 238px; HEIGHT: 319px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456868447328860514" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjd676X2TP-D12CGvJ45n71ybamLxk26vbiAJzQTfUdoszdC8SiBTbzt49bsJyA8D8Y8vhGLRQrZ5L4qjPexfd2IhgomDSbCxdNU6nePyHbD_aaYN-K9bluYu4brer4M__vNHdT9mAdHPM/s320/carenesphone410+099.jpg" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsOmfK8i3J-XSPqoJa25TQiNJ2RzaGC27TROXqOTt7dim3ofTeh0ioI42dseQj7-z1tajJzihboRS4XPdnW5eY6XOpDvyHPxtND_WUfmNKcjE18iEL_aIFiuAKLGSA2IN0kTaFGFmwLE4/s1600/carenesphone410+100.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 240px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456868452180027346" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsOmfK8i3J-XSPqoJa25TQiNJ2RzaGC27TROXqOTt7dim3ofTeh0ioI42dseQj7-z1tajJzihboRS4XPdnW5eY6XOpDvyHPxtND_WUfmNKcjE18iEL_aIFiuAKLGSA2IN0kTaFGFmwLE4/s320/carenesphone410+100.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div align="left"></div></div></div></div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-66727005670723122302010-04-05T20:03:00.004-06:002010-04-05T20:53:42.362-06:00Brian<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfYJWHfshMbxDr1PmOiAi25irzF1QJEIZJ1yqziVeryUmAaIze5eXLm73kHf3k6nRT-8-pMmiSfVm7et7dCzlsXTOoZfX1ZiyAxcQqqw8Ym_zifD1UoFEKrpZh7Hx-St8pN8yFXfZNMbo/s1600/apr610+070.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456848020547184402" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfYJWHfshMbxDr1PmOiAi25irzF1QJEIZJ1yqziVeryUmAaIze5eXLm73kHf3k6nRT-8-pMmiSfVm7et7dCzlsXTOoZfX1ZiyAxcQqqw8Ym_zifD1UoFEKrpZh7Hx-St8pN8yFXfZNMbo/s320/apr610+070.JPG" /></a><br /><div align="left">Well, as I can't seem to keep this up on a regular basis, I will try to get caught up all in one day. I have been thinking about things to blog, and I talk about it with my family, so much, that if I take a picture, I get asked, "You aren't going to blog this are you?" Brian is one who asks whenever I want a picture of him, and I literally have to chase him around the house to get a picture. But as he is one of my favorite people, I wanted to have a post just about him.</div><br /><div>January was our 16<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">th</span> anniversary, and common as the bad weather is, we got snowed in for one day of our anniversary, but got to go on our second night. Brian took me to Deadwood, SD and we stayed in a suite with a hot tub in it. We didn't really go anywhere while we were there, as we arrived later at night in the dark. We did go to a restaurant dedicated to Harrison Ford and all of his movies. It was fun to see just how many of them we had seen - and the food was good too. </div><br /><div>March brought on Brian's 37<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">th</span> birthday. We have decided that as we get older, we don't do <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">alot</span> for the big day anymore. But, we did have a little party for him and invited a few families over for cake and games. It was a fun time and I think that it was a great way to celebrate his birthday. Since I am trying to really pack in a few extra posts tonight (and being lazy) I am only going to post a few reasons I truly love this man.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>1. Brian works really hard to take care of our family. He does many things for us that he doesn't really like, but knows it will be good for us.</div><br /><div>2. I love that Brian can build things. He builds beautiful things that I enjoy having in my home. This is also a hate thing, as I don't get all his attention when he is deep into a project.</div><br /><div>3. I appreciate that Brian gets heart and soul into his callings. It is all or nothing for him, and I know that others benefit from the hard work that he does. </div><br /><div>4. Brian loves others, and is always mindful of those around him. He is considerate of the needs of others, and like me, tries to lessen their problems and make it better.</div><br /><div>5. I could go on forever, but I love Brian because I know he would turn heaven and earth for me if there was something I truly wanted. He recently spent a whole day helping me sew a ball gown so that we could go to a dance. He truly is my prince.</div><br /><div align="center">I love you! </div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-83135066736014332902009-12-29T13:03:00.004-07:002010-04-05T21:15:49.563-06:00Isabella is 4!!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj56ItYMxBN7vH7VghdTivSsrV2JJMs5pZ0rIQDz1ORamBgpX5Z2sKmW3aQe_W3z14SNgQSp-3zA0RH4ZA0L53aBCLAuQaM8hzZMhAXNCSk8yujaqvyWrZuL8Gi2vvs0A9VmZHE9NcMBF0/s1600/apr610+046.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 186px; HEIGHT: 249px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456856910839918786" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj56ItYMxBN7vH7VghdTivSsrV2JJMs5pZ0rIQDz1ORamBgpX5Z2sKmW3aQe_W3z14SNgQSp-3zA0RH4ZA0L53aBCLAuQaM8hzZMhAXNCSk8yujaqvyWrZuL8Gi2vvs0A9VmZHE9NcMBF0/s320/apr610+046.JPG" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN0uO6Hl7yOzaNoDVACMZpwb9QZ08GekPDTKgkbNIMF9qdG72DX-o_v6-xvq3h168P0S2CgyHpgKOvU8IyCvFJI0l5nGJv9jEgU0RUDaxmI3F6cmMyRWnv41AGpN_tCauaWCRxklyCues/s1600/apr610+040.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 250px; HEIGHT: 203px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456856900414233154" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN0uO6Hl7yOzaNoDVACMZpwb9QZ08GekPDTKgkbNIMF9qdG72DX-o_v6-xvq3h168P0S2CgyHpgKOvU8IyCvFJI0l5nGJv9jEgU0RUDaxmI3F6cmMyRWnv41AGpN_tCauaWCRxklyCues/s320/apr610+040.JPG" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_YXjbxfTM9g_OUG-gpI_OMJC33syLj0_42YdTlLsNwc4gd49ysXbPxklpRfo7O7dCJDA7uZwdoE4gd9OmmiFO9OAz5fiD5DcVYDwX-SGnPt2QfSEY7nACUNzzgzkcFgtKoyNn_jsap6c/s1600/apr610+033.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 155px; HEIGHT: 217px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456856893311251842" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_YXjbxfTM9g_OUG-gpI_OMJC33syLj0_42YdTlLsNwc4gd49ysXbPxklpRfo7O7dCJDA7uZwdoE4gd9OmmiFO9OAz5fiD5DcVYDwX-SGnPt2QfSEY7nACUNzzgzkcFgtKoyNn_jsap6c/s320/apr610+033.JPG" /></a><br /><div><br /><div><br /><div>Yesterday was Isabella's birthday, and I had every intention of putting her on here yesterday, but I have lost my adapter to put pictures on my computer, so I will have to add pictures later. I am going to borrow an idea from a friend (thanks Viki) and give 4 reasons that I love and appreciate Izzy.<br /><br /><div align="center">1. Isabella approaches everything in life like a cheerleader. She is a little dingy(no offense to those cheerleaders), but she just loves everyone and everything. Everything is "her favorite", and everyone is her "best friend."</div><br /><div align="center">2. Isabella is very appreciative of things that she gets. She always says thank you. Usually followed by "I love it."</div><br /><div align="center">3. I love Isabella, because she has helped to heal my heart just a little.</div><br /><div align="center">4. I love Isabella, because she gives the best hugs, and is always ready to say "I love you".</div><br /><div align="left">We had a little family party for her last night - she had a princess cake, and got training wheels, a horn for her bike, some tinkerbell toys, a backpack, and a purse and a dolly from her grandma.<br />My present for her birthday, was that she came to me and said "I am too big to wear Pull-Ups." She went to bed in big girl underpants, and woke up dry. Whoo, hoo!</div><div align="left"> </div></div></div></div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-73048028951754630652009-12-18T19:19:00.004-07:002009-12-18T19:33:41.020-07:00Merry Christmas from the Weinands!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHyHXazX__Jy6Zvv-aMR69aVgKgVwcPzmxEXj8VumXwrG2MLoxLGXLeUW179jWFGum60P1wfqBcMpBUVZ-EqG8LuDq0mPftQBAHRjGqFQx6t6lR_QSHWlmAmGYBAijMPQ03LbSPnZ3NU8/s1600-h/briancamera1209+015.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5416769566955054466" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHyHXazX__Jy6Zvv-aMR69aVgKgVwcPzmxEXj8VumXwrG2MLoxLGXLeUW179jWFGum60P1wfqBcMpBUVZ-EqG8LuDq0mPftQBAHRjGqFQx6t6lR_QSHWlmAmGYBAijMPQ03LbSPnZ3NU8/s320/briancamera1209+015.JPG" /></a><br /><div>We are sending cards out this year, but they don't seem to be in a big hurry to get done. As I envision what might have been, I see us excitedly getting ready for your big day. Your grandmas are here, and your beautiful white dress is all ready and waiting. You are beautiful and full of fun, a joy to all who know you. We are all happy and enjoying our time together.</div><br /><div>Instead, today, I got the chance to attend someone else's baptism, and I couldn't go. I was filled with sadness as I knew that this is just one more thing that I don't get to do with you. Everywhere I look, I seem to see children that would be your age, and wonder what you would be like; what you are like now. Are you happy, do you see your grandpas, and do they take care of you or is it the other way around? Did you get to know your sisters before they were born, or is that just one more thing that we won't get to do on this side? Do you get to look in on us from time to time - do you think of me? And one more thing, why doesn't heaven have facebook? ;)</div><br /><div>We have tried every year to make your birthday a celebration of you. We do something fun as a family, and remember the fun things we did with you for the short time you were with us. Tomorrow is Sunday, so this year it is going to be a quiet day doing our usual Sunday things. I am eternally grateful for the gospel, because of it, I still have you, no matter what. I just wish, well, I wish a lot of things that aren't to be at this time. Just know that I think of you so often, my beautiful girl. I am trying to teach your sisters about you, so that they will know you like I know you when we are all together again. I love you so much, and miss all the things that we should be doing together. My one wish for you this year is that you are happy, as you always were.</div><br /><div>Love, Mom</div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-91683649595951915432009-11-30T23:32:00.005-07:002009-12-01T00:05:05.423-07:00Pictures with Izzy<div> Izzy was a good sport and let Mom pretend to be a photographer. Today I learned that a Dr. that I worked with, and who took care of my children, lost her husband in an accident. I am heartsick for this sweet woman, she has three small children, all of whom have lost their daddy too. I have spent the afternoon thinking about my life, the experiences that I have had, and selfishly wondering if I have it worse or better. Five (yes, five) years ago when my little Em left us, I had a hard time thinking that happiness was any part of the future. As time has gone on, some days I have felt guilty that I was happy without her being here. Today I am just glad that I have what I have, that I have the opportunity to see my little one again, and I am eternally thankful for my best friend who is still by my side. So for tonight, I will hold them all a little closer, for an instant longer, and thank my Father in Heaven for the blessings that I hold dear. Thanks to for all the friends that have helped me come leaps and bounds from where I was five years ago.Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-4214967098369083692009-10-10T14:00:00.003-06:002009-10-10T14:26:25.046-06:00This weeks happenings...<div><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIPHnf5mCfqvvgPH3fLQ3qMCn-yj83rykVR97PFd-Aa_dMzlVhel_zit9kFcMNnerGZHBCzd7-8qtvUoIQe_Ht7hzkPvUaIRyu_TzNdnEyBwl7HU5ATXZcVyPW_CRKeEid4dL-GVJxtJ4/s1600-h/october09+004.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5391069145689173922" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIPHnf5mCfqvvgPH3fLQ3qMCn-yj83rykVR97PFd-Aa_dMzlVhel_zit9kFcMNnerGZHBCzd7-8qtvUoIQe_Ht7hzkPvUaIRyu_TzNdnEyBwl7HU5ATXZcVyPW_CRKeEid4dL-GVJxtJ4/s320/october09+004.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div>This week brought our first snow storm. I am not ready for all this snow this early. I miss not having a few weeks of the pretty fall colors. Many trees here in Gillette just fell over from the weight of the snow. We have worked hard to keep all our animals warm and cozy with the winter weather. All I can say is thank heavens for hairy cows who like the cold - they are easy to take care of. Our chickens have started laying eggs again - one gives us a double yolker every other day. (even a triple yolker once) I also talked Izzy into taking a nap on Friday, she thinks that she </div><div>doesn't have to anymo<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR2raGEtDbmfiQltJYvRHJgquAHuf9PLrmE1iPnTtgSWlF7_jv-I97sErnT6WN39SuiziShWDz0C_0tGqLgwrzYun2wYjxFLDLqgfpv1K-S0FzLrHlbmA5J8INnozsBx158YIY76sFHgU/s1600-h/october09+007.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 199px; HEIGHT: 253px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5391069170203648258" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR2raGEtDbmfiQltJYvRHJgquAHuf9PLrmE1iPnTtgSWlF7_jv-I97sErnT6WN39SuiziShWDz0C_0tGqLgwrzYun2wYjxFLDLqgfpv1K-S0FzLrHlbmA5J8INnozsBx158YIY76sFHgU/s320/october09+007.JPG" /></a>re. Rachel got up to come tell me Izzy was sleeping with her toys - can you find her in this picture. Even right next to her, it was kind of hard to see her. Reminded me of that scene in ET. We haven't really done anything too exciting - just trying to keep warm. Chad has the flu this weekend - got the shot on Thursday and was sick on Friday, so we are hoping to keep it just to him, and that he will get well soon. Have a good weekend everyone!</div></div></div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-71349768833208998402009-09-28T13:51:00.005-06:002009-09-28T16:17:19.430-06:00Still Here..<div>Well, once again I have neglected my blog far longer than was ever intended. This summer just flew by, and left me in the dust wondering where the time went. We accomplished a lot this summer - namely, Brian finished his Master's Degree. He has received his diploma, so I guess it is official. We added a few more animals to our menagerie, and are loving every minute of it. We hatched some chicks from our incubator (twice)<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvjLUuDUPw-ZsAXGWF9qKPZOTFS0LV9QjDiXN2qkJL4r-FHhZozB3P36BhCpA5eeBECIdXpPAcOD3cypWbUa4DsUssI-CXkoR2O2OH7d4gNZ6w27Hi8yneN186qi-dVRKQO9kTMulSsEk/s1600-h/aug+09+040.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 227px; HEIGHT: 136px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386616411227518530" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvjLUuDUPw-ZsAXGWF9qKPZOTFS0LV9QjDiXN2qkJL4r-FHhZozB3P36BhCpA5eeBECIdXpPAcOD3cypWbUa4DsUssI-CXkoR2O2OH7d4gNZ6w27Hi8yneN186qi-dVRKQO9kTMulSsEk/s320/aug+09+040.JPG" /></a></div><br /><div></div><br /><div>and one of our peacock hens hatched a few of her own eggs. (Their first day of school pictures are updated on the blog too.) Chad is in Junior High now and has suprised his Mom on his organizational skills, and hasn't gotten lost once. Abby and Kaleb moved up a year in school too, Abby is now a 6th grader and loves being the big kid on campus for one more year. Kaleb is in 3rd grade and is enjoying it. He is reading at a 5th grade level, so is a challenge to his teacher to keep busy. Izzy started Preschool for her speech and loves every minute of it. Rachel is Mom's big helper and is sure that she should be going some place too. Brian and I are just the same - just trying to keep up with the kids and have a few minutes for us too. Brian is excited to start teaching his night woods class this week, and I am signed up to take a photography class next month, so we are still learning and doing too. Hope everyone is well and happy. Hope you enjoy looking at the pictures. </div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-21056871738503898332009-06-13T21:50:00.003-06:002009-06-13T22:45:42.265-06:00Hello again..<div><div><div><div><div>We seem to have lost track of time over the last months and things have just gotten away from us. The blog unfortunately took a back seat as time has just sped by. We have been busy getting </div><div>school done - both Brian and the kids. Brian will be done with his master's degree this month and we are all so proud of him and excited to have all his attention again. We have added a few more to our animal family, and have plans for a few more in the near future. </div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh00kowaBAgSwgdl1O0JuCJBIxN5AjtWtj6I-Ffpn5n0ITufWHV735FphUsQIkMslMwpdgJlDY9PyIV4wpUJHAqZOKqOnnIoKg5kFZb-7mrd07WhO0CYnvCKCX_QJwNlfg9BmGEmGxdJMg/s1600-h/brian+camera+61309+042.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5347032815189554978" style="WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh00kowaBAgSwgdl1O0JuCJBIxN5AjtWtj6I-Ffpn5n0ITufWHV735FphUsQIkMslMwpdgJlDY9PyIV4wpUJHAqZOKqOnnIoKg5kFZb-7mrd07WhO0CYnvCKCX_QJwNlfg9BmGEmGxdJMg/s320/brian+camera+61309+042.JPG" border="0" /></a>Izzy holding our new baby chicks - they are her babies.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimjkeuU3bQ5WNpMBYo4mXXcJz66t-XmahDNdhq1xQBLx8HzkIkM9f6NWKAwINBMuQt8NMx1r4ILOhyphenhyphenCHy-jTiiDuq8Vx8y2IaTuYDQ1-37V7B-HfYlmTrZsQAo6R7O3OX9zD4vxTZ3r-I/s1600-h/brian+camera+61309+029.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5347032798575812226" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimjkeuU3bQ5WNpMBYo4mXXcJz66t-XmahDNdhq1xQBLx8HzkIkM9f6NWKAwINBMuQt8NMx1r4ILOhyphenhyphenCHy-jTiiDuq8Vx8y2IaTuYDQ1-37V7B-HfYlmTrZsQAo6R7O3OX9zD4vxTZ3r-I/s320/brian+camera+61309+029.JPG" border="0" /></a>Brian has adopted a few peacocks that live with the chickens.</div><div> </div><div>The kids are growing by leaps and bounds, I now have a son who is taller than me. We had such a great time. <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296182078949531570" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJVjP2vJzCAT_jZqBBVq04AIcvCMlNhhyphenhyphenpn3Uad7QDJUP58kGaOIlyZL4kkk1hoXXG2hJ2TrsywB9Se09kXrbc0kuLwko8LzxnRhdtO4OO8Afdf1HoVC9QXQXsWaHLec2yFZ2KmcqoYyQ/s320/las+vegas+2009+001.JPG" border="0" />My mom and grandma came and watched our kids for us, and kept watch over the homefront. While we were in Vegas, we stayed with my sister and used her car for the constant driving that seems to be part of the life in Vegas.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296182092035720610" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7-Lgedy7yoGKlH7EEzhQVD-HGvIGJfitDx2M0toOcHiudkBIpNTyIJlYfr_aT-JWS9SPNlVhO0XcMsrLhZEhQaZIhT6mj7qoARKpNg7vTgh66ZB9FB0mN_QwBCpnl-Nt7jymQmz_Snoo/s320/las+vegas+2009+018.JPG" border="0" /> We had great fun going to the Tournament of Kings in the Excalibur - sadly, our king did not win, but it was not for lack of cheering from our section.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296182087645404514" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6xzEcgaWW6AFlRmF1yhIh8jUvC24CGrcrM6XFW2fzRR_xMa_k-E9-KCg5trkJKZuw4a_zYph0I2aFoAyiPFqJZyNo4N9tFILktsQTqf4sG9xM4aool1mfKvxO5nvbvNbsco360VTRt20/s320/las+vegas+2009+008.JPG" border="0" /> We did lots of shopping, or should I say looking? Brian and I had a caricature drawn of us - we decided that we make pretty cute cartoons. <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296182098398579762" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvtyc1N_00KB9UxLjCfllfAF8sf0nhxPH7mTGV7GziBQvZ_sD8Y6JElKDDnQwH8X6PlmBiHaAV3JUG9SZB0VazyR_NsaOUAIp7PwDMp7B4lgnz6So5h9XjF_Xqe_lGnFKXGslpYIZ5C-Q/s320/las+vegas+2009+021.JPG" border="0" />We enjoyed all the food experiences that you can get in a large city - Connie introduced us to sushi. I actually liked what I had, to my great surprise. We always have to eat at In-N-Out burger, and we also got to frequent a little bakery called the Cupcakery. The cupcakes were great, and it was fun to see all the different kinds that were available. Of course as things go, we missed the one year anniversary by one day, so the day after we left was free cupcake day. To top off our stay, we were able to do an early morning session at the temple before we left. It was nice to feel the peace at the temple, and get renewed to go home. </div><br /><div>Thanks to everyone who made the trip so fun. Thanks a ton to my mom and grandma who had the lions share of the work to do for the trip - my kids love them and love to spend time with them. Thanks to Karen and Cordell for inviting us - do it again next year? Thanks to Connie for giving us a place to stay, a car to drive, and fun hours of Wii. Thanks too to Brian for being a great sport and taking time off to have fun.</div></div></div></div><br /><p> </p><p> </p>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-91344120540093561832009-01-08T11:58:00.004-07:002009-01-08T12:18:31.576-07:00Our 14th Anniversary<div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiskditd-4APmmbiBIU7R09s4dsh6LO_2AKt18AK0As3ei3FSUXyplGuN6Q95xzWbF_R5bEY4vhhLvrJFSI86ihsa_93CcdnGtAj7mFuNnMA7lC_FwK1qR5khjQUO0vpXJqOAPiPT6f_Oc/s1600-h/brian+and+I+002.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289003350510155586" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiskditd-4APmmbiBIU7R09s4dsh6LO_2AKt18AK0As3ei3FSUXyplGuN6Q95xzWbF_R5bEY4vhhLvrJFSI86ihsa_93CcdnGtAj7mFuNnMA7lC_FwK1qR5khjQUO0vpXJqOAPiPT6f_Oc/s320/brian+and+I+002.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div>Yesterday was our 14th anniversary. Somedays it is hard to imagine that we have stuck together this long, and others seem like we have just always been together. I have to give Brian credit, as he stuck with me through the thick and thin - I think that we have had a lot of both in our married lives. Brian is my best friend and I love him so much. I love that he is such a great dad, and he tries hard to keep us all happy. He is very thoughtful and is always mindful of me and what he thinks I might want or need. You're the best Brian! For our anniversary, we went out to dinner at Applebee's and on our regular date night tour through Walmart. Brian also got me flowers - a bouquet of my favorites , daisies. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLex6lHluke_M_R8v_gToLqrRznzDzFHYRUK8-_2813PwgYhsyJ_FuITGYW3rZ46_sTUGBVzAzRC-ESYM0kqyTrHqU02sAISe4mqZa9rjRzDfJYBqcaBHHjugeCn8ELAyg92NBRyGYRrE/s1600-h/brian+and+I+003.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289003360876348562" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLex6lHluke_M_R8v_gToLqrRznzDzFHYRUK8-_2813PwgYhsyJ_FuITGYW3rZ46_sTUGBVzAzRC-ESYM0kqyTrHqU02sAISe4mqZa9rjRzDfJYBqcaBHHjugeCn8ELAyg92NBRyGYRrE/s320/brian+and+I+003.JPG" border="0" /></a></div></div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-48081521619654836882009-01-07T14:23:00.003-07:002009-01-07T14:30:54.763-07:00Get On the BandWagonHi all,<br />I felt like all who read my blog probably would be interested in something that I found out about today. Congress is passing a bill that will prohibit any selling of goods for kids 12 and under that have not been thoroughly tested by the FDA for lead. That means no more little craft store goodies such as cute barrettes, no more DI purchases, in fact, DI will probably be put out of business. No more garage sales, etc. Please go to this site to let your representatives know that this is not what you want. <a href="http://capwiz.com/americanapparel/issues/alert/?alertid=12274476">http://capwiz.com/americanapparel/issues/alert/?alertid=12274476</a> This was not really advertised that this was happening and the bill passed with little to no naysayers. They are calling the day this goes into effect National Bankruptcy Day. I know most of you take advantage of the great deals you can find here and there at garage sales, and I even like to have the occasional garage sale to pass the deals along. That will no longer be allowed - so where will all our junk go? Straight to the dump - What happened to going green? Hope this enlightens a few of you.Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-71633673649875040852009-01-01T19:49:00.004-07:002009-01-01T20:50:26.590-07:00A Sigh of Relief<div>I have to admit that I am glad that Christmas is over. I feel as if I held my breath for the last month, hoping that maybe I would get all my projects done, dealing with new projects that popped up, and trying to keep a good attitude through it all. Well, the projects all got done, and I know I could have had a little better attitude, but despite it all, December has come to an end. I am thankful for all those that sent Christmas cards out - I love seeing how your families are growing and hearing what everyone is up to. Thanks also for the little notes of encouragement from those that know what a hard month December is for me. I made it through another season without Em and some years are better than others. The highlight of our Christmas, was that we decided to get our negatives printed onto discs at Walgreens. It was an expensive gift to ourselves but more than worth it. We found we had more pics of EmmaLee than we knew and have had so much fun looking at all the pics of our trips and adventures with our family. The favorite gift was Brian's digital frame that we have loaded with a ton of pictures and we all enjoy watching them flip through.<br /><br /><div>As it is time again to make a goal for the new year, I have decided that my goals for this year are that I am going to try to be nicer to my husband, and that I am going to try to finish all my un-finished projects. I am hoping that I will be able to accomplish both, and do so without too much struggle. I hope that all of your goals will be met this year too. Happy New Year to all! I am attaching a "the way we were" photo that we had fun looking at.</div><div> </div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiWW55UY4ez2JbnRt0jU48cDEhBond10mMifoFFqajvPs-sh3Qr2IgIdhYiEdz61-rG3gy1jeelM6WFPlBcq6Esmqo7xIKIveviJKpT3KrnKaOPbB6r_3GsrYW2H1zOPJM0nDMY_lYn5E/s1600-h/503093-R1-047-22_3_390.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286537994378705042" style="WIDTH: 200px; We were missing my brother Chad as his family welcomed a new little girl - Caitlyn to their (our) family. My grandma and mom came, as did Connie and Joe, my sis and brother. We had many things to be thankful for as we got ready for dinner, enjoying the fun of getting ready, snacking as we cooked, and eating the wonderful meal that we had worked so hard for. We were also able to spend some fun times together the rest of the weekend and we enjoyed letting the cousins renew friendships and play together. I was reminded of all the things that I am thankful for - the main blessing in my life is my family. Love you guys. Here are some pics of the great meal, and fun times we had this weekend. The eggs are our first eggs from our chickens - we are starting to see results from the months of feeding and caring for "our girls." We are now getting 7-8 eggs a day. The white egg is from the store. We took an evening to make gingerbread (cracker) houses and had a great time. We also gave my mom a makeover (Carene and Connie style) and colored/highlighted her hair and we also waxed her eyebrows for the first time. In your own words Mom, "That's the price of beauty kid." Below is a new recipe I found and fixed to use up some of the leftover turkey. They were to die for, and kind of fancy looking for entertaining. Hope you enjoy. My kids even ate this, just not in a lettuce leaf.</div><br /><div>P.S. I have to cram all this in, as I seem to have a hard time lately finding time to blog. Hope all had a great holiday.</div><br /><div>New Recipe: I adjusted the amounts as I had a big group to feed.</div><br /><div align="center">Lettuce Wraps<br /></div><br /><div align="left">1 tsp oil<br />1 boneless, skinless chicken breast (I used cut up turkey from dinner)</div><div align="left">1/4 cup grated carrot<br />1/4 cup slivered onion</div><div align="left">1 Tbsp. slivered green pepper</div><div align="left">1 Tbsp. slivered orange pepper<br />1/4 cup water</div><div align="left">1 pkg Ramen Chicken flavor</div><div align="left">1/4 cup unsalted peanuts</div><div align="left">1/2 reserved seasoning packet</div><div align="left">1 Tbsp. hoisin sauce</div><div align="left">1 tsp. honey</div><div align="left">1/8 tsp pepper</div><div align="left">1/16 tsp chili pepper</div><div align="left">1/16 tsp garlic powder</div><div align="left">1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce</div><div align="left">8 leaf lettuce leaves</div><br /><div align="left">Heat cooking oil and saute chicken and onion together until chicken is no longer pink inside. I had planned on getting it cut and colored to cover the gray (did I admit that out loud?). Well, between the enthusiasm of my hairdresser and my want to have shorter hair, we had an adventure. This is actually closer to my real color, but it has been enhanced a little. My family reacted in various ways, "Where is my wife?", "Who are you, and where is my mom?" or "Oh my gosh, what did you do to your hair?". That was fun in itself, but I do like it so it is here to stay. </div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-22386415580385132922008-11-06T19:11:00.005-07:002008-11-06T20:07:51.349-07:00The Last Two Weeks<div><div><div><div>The last two weeks have been very busy for the Weinand household. Sadly, two weeks ago my cousin lost her sweet 19 month old baby to croup. She was a beautiful active little girl that was the joy of her parents' lives, and she has gone on to wait ahead for her family in heaven. I had the opportunity to attend the funeral for Kyla which was hard and hit a little close to home. It makes me remember, as if I needed to, that life is so short and that we need to enjoy our kids to the fullest. Our prayers are with Kasey and Brian as they learn to live without the presence of their little Kyla. Thanks to our friends Annie and Roger Davies for watching Rachel and Izzy during the funeral for me.<br /></div><div>After coming home, it has been work, sleep, work, and a little sleep. In the mix we had Halloween and I added a few pics of the kids in their costumes. Rachel was a poodle, Izzy a dalmation, Kaleb was a spotted dog, Abby was Princess Leia, and Chad was the dog catcher. The little girls practiced wearing their costumes for days before we actually got to use them, and then, as luck would have it, Izzy fell asleep in the car on the way to Trick-or-Treat and slept through the fun. Her brothers and sisters were kind enough to donate their candy to the cause so that she wouldn't be too sad. (as if 5 kids don't get plenty of candy on a trick-or-treat expedition)<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVuZeCNQ91fyZyLHUefEYrc0RXlOwmk8XINXGRbr_4hI0WYq4lmjc9imLQwsy7LBeYImO-6bPqvlz_g-ZIMuhLCjdnWOgg4uiDVxu-0Rvxu-XUrYECFDr2u_Xm7aTOKTugQ67jkJpVGVs/s1600-h/009.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265740667294975826" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVuZeCNQ91fyZyLHUefEYrc0RXlOwmk8XINXGRbr_4hI0WYq4lmjc9imLQwsy7LBeYImO-6bPqvlz_g-ZIMuhLCjdnWOgg4uiDVxu-0Rvxu-XUrYECFDr2u_Xm7aTOKTugQ67jkJpVGVs/s200/009.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoCQAgJ5fOGcEfjEt471tNrXxLgVQMxOCyj-VWaaao2bXaJvI6zZNnE6kxZ4yzVnOX3Dm0LeRpaFSghyphenhyphengPdRtm27TOPop51nuTRtosFkoBKHeIT6BIUdusBUkhi2fYXbX5LARvKS-_Cio/s1600-h/005.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265740661351852674" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoCQAgJ5fOGcEfjEt471tNrXxLgVQMxOCyj-VWaaao2bXaJvI6zZNnE6kxZ4yzVnOX3Dm0LeRpaFSghyphenhyphengPdRtm27TOPop51nuTRtosFkoBKHeIT6BIUdusBUkhi2fYXbX5LARvKS-_Cio/s200/005.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQwPTaxIN1vPtVpH-mjmKKs3PWq1ay7KFDO-lHoVfcmysGhdHuUaOJA_bslKMxyYta3UavwJrSjPkS7L80HtTGCv3Rw3-T-0S2hx-LGOdasedxA_BbQySTyMCYNcc3os32w2VGSPW3-AI/s1600-h/006.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265740658058205426" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQwPTaxIN1vPtVpH-mjmKKs3PWq1ay7KFDO-lHoVfcmysGhdHuUaOJA_bslKMxyYta3UavwJrSjPkS7L80HtTGCv3Rw3-T-0S2hx-LGOdasedxA_BbQySTyMCYNcc3os32w2VGSPW3-AI/s200/006.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-L3m5xPi8cFh_jKKuEIS1s9JsYXgs-EHNVX52wddpbkCFFFC8oyTpPGEnSTRkQJwVMcOsZpu798oZ_cQFTn2Q0NwbWlOi43wUpS35oo1gdutGyCw-reg9adhxsY8EeEG5TNmgGvWT4ns/s1600-h/050.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265745378767489282" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-L3m5xPi8cFh_jKKuEIS1s9JsYXgs-EHNVX52wddpbkCFFFC8oyTpPGEnSTRkQJwVMcOsZpu798oZ_cQFTn2Q0NwbWlOi43wUpS35oo1gdutGyCw-reg9adhxsY8EeEG5TNmgGvWT4ns/s200/050.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br />This weeks recipe I am also including, was one that my cousin Kelly had made for the family while we were getting ready for the funeral. This is one of the "girls" that we have. Rachel just loves the chickens. She screams if we don't take her on our jaunts out to the coop to check on the chickens. Then, if you don't catch her a chicken to pet, she is just upset with you. She just giggles and giggles to pet them, and will stand at the fence and watch them for ever. It is fun to watch her. If she is ever outside she can be found toddling to the coop to see who is out to visit with.</div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-59004183535178536512008-10-14T20:15:00.004-06:002008-10-14T20:36:25.142-06:00New Recipe<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVFq0XzRrM_jikbxFBEBmDfzZwGBKDe0qwRa_ULZoqklk0zoXkammmOQBhw8yXqvZ7FWPiRz_wzoQRpgcACukwq7frUzgXFONxJLx9KHmKvILRRq6QHmlK3sbno4KEG-F0H92jvsykI34/s1600-h/October+2008+228.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257201466090837090" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVFq0XzRrM_jikbxFBEBmDfzZwGBKDe0qwRa_ULZoqklk0zoXkammmOQBhw8yXqvZ7FWPiRz_wzoQRpgcACukwq7frUzgXFONxJLx9KHmKvILRRq6QHmlK3sbno4KEG-F0H92jvsykI34/s320/October+2008+228.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Hi all. I decided that I would put a new recipe on my blog each week, as I love to try new recipes. For now, I will just put recipes on that I have tried and then let you know whether or not they were "family friendly". I don't know if I can just put the recipes on here if I got them from a certain site, so I will just tell you where to get them for now. Tonight we had a recipe that I got off the internet from Paula Deen. You can find the recipe by searching her recipes on the Food Channel. We had Chicken Spiedini's and spaghetti squash. The chicken is wrapped around a chunk of asiago cheese and then rolled in olive oil and bread crumbs. These are great! The spaghetti squash I cooked up in the microwave and then put butter and parmesan cheese in it. I can't say that it was the best looking meal, but everyone ate it up. When feeding my family spaghetti squash, I always treat it like spaghetti noodles and serve it in some way related to the noodle and then my kids will eat it. How is that for tricky? Anyhow, give this a try and let me know if you like it.</div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1842179853601039326.post-45888096921857379252008-10-12T20:08:00.002-06:002008-10-12T20:47:02.729-06:00My Little Music Director<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLqZWI6uxcEsM8Pp0t4Vj_453tZFGTRFW_EB2zBjCGfislFxBVGos6pBYwSvhEYioz_sP0_tbsEZDZMlgdJ_ACzeoo06fPLTG22Rb1fv6h1hEdA-ITJdW3J6yoQGJJFfX8IQPtaVMTaXU/s1600-h/October+4,+2008+004.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256464285209598226" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLqZWI6uxcEsM8Pp0t4Vj_453tZFGTRFW_EB2zBjCGfislFxBVGos6pBYwSvhEYioz_sP0_tbsEZDZMlgdJ_ACzeoo06fPLTG22Rb1fv6h1hEdA-ITJdW3J6yoQGJJFfX8IQPtaVMTaXU/s320/October+4,+2008+004.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Rachel is my one year old busy one. She rarely sits to watch TV, she will stop to laugh at something on the TV and then run off on her way. To our surprise during General Conference, she actually sat during President Monson's talk and then she led the Choir in their song. This is her leading the music, although it is hard to see anything but her flying hands. We were once told that it didn't matter if your kids went to church when they were little, as they wouldn't know any different. I beg to differ. I think that they are so close to the spirit and they can feel it. So now, when I go to sacrament meeting and wonder, "Why am I here?" while I wrestle between Izzy and Rachel for that hour, I will think of this picture and know why.</div>Carenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06615917620738459057noreply@blogger.com2
